FREE GLIDE LEAGUE 2 x10 trophies in production
Free Glide League inspires worldwide: new pilots and international interest at record levels
The current season of the Free Glide League exceeds all expectations and sets new standards in gliding. The impressive progress of the new pilots in particular is causing a stir and making the fans’ hearts beat faster.
International enthusiasm is growing
The strong interest from America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and England underlines the global influence of the purely online league. Pilots and fans from these countries are eagerly awaiting an English-language video that explains the setup of the components and the rules in detail. This international response shows how the Free Glide League is crossing borders and getting model pilots all over the world excited about the sport. The video will be produced as soon as the new Eagle 2 (currently being delivered) arrives here, around mid-November.
Steady increase in pilots
This month we were able to welcome new pilots to our ranks again. Since the successful launch on January 1, 2024, interest has grown rapidly. The European Facebook group now has an impressive 1,082 members. A special highlight of this week was the independent founding of a new group by Jeffrey Sanford. Founded out of pure enthusiasm for the Free Glide League, it already had around 70 members in the first week – further proof of the infectious fascination of this sport, and the trend is increasing rapidly.
Impressive numbers and performances
There are currently 103 pilots competing in the flatland classification and 44 pilots in the slope classification. Together they have covered a distance that goes around the world more than twice. This impressive performance not only shows the commitment of the pilots, but also the high level at which the league is flying.
The Cup: A symbol of excellence
As you can see in the current picture, the cup has already been virtually completed and is now going into production. Each first place winner receives a personalized trophy that recognizes their outstanding performance and sets the bar for the coming year. This individual gift is not only intended to honor the winners, but also to motivate all pilots to continue to do their best.
outlook
The Free Glide League is well on the way to breaking new records and getting even more people worldwide excited about cross-country gliding at their own model airfield. With the upcoming English-language video and the growing international community, we look forward to the coming months and the further flights of fancy of our pilots.
Conclusion:
The combination of talented newcomers from beginners, intermediate to professionals, international attention and outstanding performances makes this season of the Free Glide League something very special. We look forward to many more successful flights and to sharing the enthusiasm for this fascinating sport with the pilot community around the world.
