  1. I was in the Marines working on Cobra and Hueys when they still had two blades. I got to help the 53 guys once in a while if they needed our hanger. You don’t realize how big they are until you stretch out and take a nap on top of the main rotor. Awesome RC!

  2. The first time I saw the HH-53Cs we had in our Rescue Squadron in England, they were in SEA Camo and looked like a giant bug. I was able to get rides once and a while, and they weren't too bad flying around England, and Europe. Got rides when they did Air to Air refueling. That gets exciting enough. If we had PJ's on board, we'd fly over the practice jump area they had on base, behind the barracks area and toss them out, they'd take the parachute ride home, then over to the truck for the ride back to their equipment shack.

  3. Great take off, glide and flight with avery smooth soft touchdown. In retrospect haah… convincing plus. This is an old vid with new comment, So how is the finished detail on your awesome model dude,

  4. I like rc helicopters. Controlling one, is like trying to thread a needle, wearing a lineman’s rubber gloves (for those unfamiliar with a lineman’s rubber gloves, they are thick, give or take a quarter of an inch thick, and big. They come from just below your elbow, to your hands.)

  6. Seriously?! No retractable gear?!! Maybe this is just a 'test flight' and the model isn't finished yet. I noticed the rear door/ramp wasn't installed either so I suppose the possibility that the model has yet to be completed is the explanation.

However, if the rear door was installed, you'd probably have more control of of the aircraft. I don't know what you thought about it's handling characteristics, but if you did feel it was a little 'spongee', it could be that the rotor wash is curling up into the rear door entrance and causing unexpected turbulence.

    (I'm just guessing, of course).

It is a nice looking model and in spite of the lack of gear retraction, you've done a great job with it. I love the way it sounds too!

  7. These Heli's have a zero fun factor for flying.  Your worried more about crashing or something going wrong rather than flying them.  Plus they can't do anything, some circles maybe, hovering, but that's it.
