  1. Looks like the real thing in the air! The U.S. routinely sent up 1,000 B-17s for bombing raids over Germany! Each plane had a crew of ten. If they lost 100 planes that was 1,000 airmen who were lost or bailed out to possible death or capture to spend time in a German POW camp! (the 1953 movie 'Stalag 17' is a classic)

  3. My grandfather was a mechanic for these. He saw all of the men dead, wounded, and absolutely shaken first hand because he had to turn around these things very quick. Blood still inside many craft. He never talked about it but we discovered his memoirs of those times. He felt guilty.

  4. Since I learned to know Sabaton, every time I see a B17, be it the real thing or such a great model, I have the melody of "No Bullets Fly" in my head. Especially since the one propeller of this great RC 1/6 scale model stopped mid flight.

This is the true story of a special B17 and a German pilot who showed mercy.

?From down below an enemy spotted
So hurry up, rearm and refuel
But through the bomber’s damaged airframe
See wounded men, scared to their bone ?

Look to the right and then look again
And see the enemy in the eye ?
No bullets fly, spared by his mercy
Escorted out, out of harms way

?Fly, fighting fair, it’s the code of the air
    Brothers, heroes, foes

    Killing machine
    Honour in the skies?
    ?B17
    Flying home
    Killing machine
Said goodbye to the cross he deserved

He risked his life two times that day?
    To save an unknown enemy
Escort to safety, out of the killzone
    A short salute, then departed

  5. Nobody comment about the fact HE SAVED THE PLANE LIKE A BOSS ???
One engine was down and it should been extremely difficult to handle this huge beast for its FIRST fly !!!
Especially for the landing on a short landing runway for its size !!!
    What a tremendous victory !!!
    That was f@cking epic.
Thanks for the video and big salut from France ??!!
    Vinz. ?‍♂️

  6. Lately, it seems that every time I see someone pulling an enormous model airplane out of a truck or hangar they are speaking German or Dutch or some European language. Such a gorgeous work of art, somewhat marred by the going empty nacelles and props, in the age of mass-produced hyper scale parts I am not sure why this thing has to use 2 blade props and have no engine detail in those huge nacelles.

  7. "Comin' in on a wing and a prayer,

Comin' in on a wing and a prayer,

    Though there's one motor gone

    We can still carry on,

Comin' in on a wing and a prayer".
