that’s what this video can be about lighting there we go in a flyer now in a flyer as a company that I’ve only just come to know however they’ve been able to resolve all of those problems that normally cause headaches when setting up or looking for a lighting system they’ve been able to do away with soldiering figuring out resistance all the wiring gone all you need is the light and the driver the light already comes with the wire attached and a Futaba connector and that just plugs straight into the driver now if you need to use an extension wire well you just use an extension wire the LED still just works as expected simple why couldn’t that have been done years ago anyway I’ve installed them in my three meter Leonardo and boy can I say that these things are bright I mean it’s probably not going to show up on camera too well however these things you really really need to see just how bright they are in person because they are right I mean whiteout especially landing gear lights that I have on here now I’m using the spotlight for the landing gear which turns on when the gear comes out and I’m also using on the wingtips the lunar light which has two lights per unit one white light and one colored light be it red or green depending on which wingtip it’s going to be installed on so let’s actually have a look at how these things look and more importantly how the software works which finally a company has actually come up with software that works not only on Windows but on Apple Mac OS as well so we don’t have to worry about how to program it and wait until you see how this app works I mean it is so simple and so easy it’s just better so let’s get this thing connected up and see how the software works first of all we need to go to the inner flyer website a bit bigger let’s change this to English and we can go into support where we can download the software for Mac OS welcome to the support area software mac OS application light cockpit software there we go it’s downloading now that’s downloaded I’m gonna open up light cockpit V 2.2 obviously this may change when you do it as it may be a newer version install it that’s all in English yes continue except all the usual stuff about installing password sorry guy is not telling you that good nice that means we’re installed good to go delete the Installer yes now if you’re doing this on Windows it’ll be a very similar procedure just download the Windows version as opposed to the Mac OS version so now that’s installed let’s go in and launch the light cockpit software here we go just give that a second so here we have inner Flyers light cockpit for their controllers let’s have a look exactly at what is on the screen as you can see it’s very simple very intuitive but let’s go through each one of the basic steps so you guys can get up and running as soon as possible so first step is to make sure that you actually connected to the controller to the light driver which you can do via the top right hand corner where you have the green USB symbol if you leave the mouse over it it’ll say device connected or if it wasn’t connected it would be in red and obviously you would say disconnected over to the opposite top corner we have light condition one two three four and five now each one of those are five completely independent programmable conditions so this particular controller has outputs for five LEDs you can of course connect more LEDs but each one of those outputs would obviously be one setting so if you have two LEDs on one output both of those LEDs are going to have the same functions and settings so each one of those five conditions is set from zero minus 50 minus 100 plus 50 and plus 100 so on your transmitter when you have a three position switch or slider so you can use all five of those positions depending on where that position is it will be on one of those five settings so next we need to set up how we want the lights to react in each one of those settings so for the first one we’ll leave it at light condition one which is on a three position or five position switch would be in the completely off position shall we say all the way to one end and we have each one of the five light outputs from the controller one two three four and five again now these each have a different color however the color has no resemblance to what the LED does obviously the LED is either white or it’s red or it’s green or whatever we don’t change that from here because the lights are fixed color that’s just to differentiate each one of the five outputs you can also check the numbers which match with the numbers on the actual driver itself so light output one which is the first one we can see that we have a circle and we have these bars which we can actually pick and move up to 100% down to 0% or anywhere in between and we can do that for each one of the many different segments of this pie that we have now what the lighting system does is every couple of seconds it goes round and round and round round in such a way that if you want to have the light on permanently you would have to turn all of those PI sections on to 100% that way as the timer goes round at each one of those pi sections it at 100% so the LED stays on if however we wanted it to flicker depending on how we wanted that to react we’d simply move these accordingly so if we have that set like that so we have a full quarter of that PI lit up and then 3/4 off then the light would be on for one quarter of that time duration so flicker once wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait then flicker again and so on if you want a faster flicker then you would be able to move these however you wanted it so as we have it now you’ll go flicker flicker flicker stay off for a long time and flicker flicker flicker again now you can do this with each one of the LEDs and however you want in fact if you actually set the first two like that you can see it automatically detects how it’s set and it calls it a short beacon or if you have it set to just the one it’s a strobe light we’re just flickers once real quick then waits for a while and flickers again it’s completely programmable however you want now in my case the way I have it set up I have a three position switch so I’m only using light conditions one three and five you can of course use more using a slider or programming in the radio however what I want to use is just the three I want to be able to have it off I want to be able to have it on and I want to be able to have it on including landing gear light so basically I’ve actually set it up in such a way that the landing light comes on with the landing gear and another switch which is able to turn everything off so for lighting condition one I want everything off so each one of the five outputs everything is set to zero so a zero if we click on number two that’s also zero we can see that with just a little bit bigger as the main light they’re three four and five all set to zero now number two I’m going to ignore because I don’t have it set up on my radio I’m going to go straight to number three now number three let’s go back to the number one here we have the light on number two is on number three is on and number four and number five of a half flash now the reason I have those two half lashes because I was R for the wingtips for the lights that flash the other two are the permanent lights which are on the wingtip which always stay on and then the other one is landing gear light which at the moment I want on because it’s where I have in my radio set programmed to be on number three when the landing gear is out number four again we ignore and number five is exactly the same but with the landing gear in so as you can see number three and number five all of the bottom row as are currently set so two three four and five are identical first two are on a second to a half that means that they’re not affected by changing the position on the switch so in other words when I extend or retract the gear the wingtip lights stay the same one set of lights is on permanently one set of lights flash the only one that changes is the nose gear where it goes from being off or on depending on where the landing gear switch is now again each one of these is individually programmable in each one of the many different positions so simply play about with it and set it up however you want the options are pretty much infinite as to how you want the lights to go you can have it flicker a few times then go quiet you want to kind of it couple times wait click a couple of times more and then again on half-and-half waters 8/16 you name it anything you want and then once you’re done simply disconnect turn it on with the radio plug in a battery and make sure that everything’s working just as you thought it was so let’s have a look at how the lines actually look in our garden before going out to the flying field and giving it a proper test and it’s always good excuse to have a flight right [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I’m Martin Pickering The setting doesn’t save on the device, How to correct it?
Where I can buy a leonardo?
Nice Light and nice Flight ?
Interesting stuff as always, would love to see a video about vectored thrust, fitting and flying for jets.
What smoke fluid are you using?
