The models have been recreated based on 3 different postcards!
The original “flying bicycle” was built only once and managed at the beginning of the 1920s the flight from France to England.
A bit later the plane crashed, the pilot (not the builder) came to death.

  1. Brilliant! I wonder, would those planes be capable of carrying an actual person or are the dolls very lightweight? Maybe a little upscaling would help… anyway, I enjoyed this very much!

  2. Truly a fun presentation. By their names I see that the pilots are Deutches, but the ground crew is Italiano – he has 'Roman' hands!

  3. Just a heads up…yes they are REAL aircraft…;
    Alfred de Pischof
    He was born in Vienna in a French family from Russia. In 1901, he follows the teachings of Chaptal High School and the ESTP . He participated in the realization of tunneling of the Karawanken line path-iron-Assling in Villach (1901-1905).

    He created in 1906 his own glider, he tries on the heights of Palaiseau, then in 1907 its own aircraft, the Pischnof No. 1, nicknamed "The flight to the wind." It is near Bleriot , Farman , and other Voisin .

    With Paul Koechlin (1881-1916), in 1908-1909, they have combined monoplane with three pairs of wings in tandem, the latter being the tail stabilizer, equipped with two Duteil & Chalmers engine horizontal opposed engine with a power of 20 hp, they will fly 300 meters and 500 meters at Villacoublay on 29 October 1908 .
