  1. Bravo for letting us see what the real aircraft would fly like. The huge up-thrust of the engine pod was to get the aircraft unstuck from the water. It also is a bear to trim out in flight and a real struggle for landing. The pilots were in a windy place right between the propellers. Still the original flew alright but it just had to go in a straight line and had lots of water for the eventual landing.

  2. absolutely superb!! there are a number of reasons this design is a challenge to model and fly. all of which make this pilot and aircraft awesome! just kick the haters to the curb. great vid!

  3. Looks like a mixture of slightly tail heavy and the shear amount of thrust/airflow over the elevator…. because of that thrust angle pointing directly at the horizontal stab…they ideally should be near parallel..power ON/OFF will create huge oscillating effect on that tail..

  4. Excellent video and awesome model. Looks like it is a hand full to fly. I appreciate them flying and sharing such an interesting plane.

  5. Big RESPECT for Project/Building/Flying and Filming this very special Machine !!! AWESOME – Thank you very much for all your works !!! Happy landings alltime !!! Hats off and greetings ! Frank ( Germany )

  6. Never seen that aircraft, what a beauty! With the mountains in the background as it flew by………it looks outstanding. Looks like a challange to fly, but the more you fly the better it gets. Thanks

  7. What an amazing build. Does look a bit twitchy as though balance maybe not ideal – does also sound as though wind might have been an issue – still a very impressive flight. Probably a relief to be safely back on the ground 🙂

  8. Why do obvious non-modelers/non-flyers feel the need to criticize. This model is a detailed, large, and complex model of a rather unique 1920's design. Getting this model to fly as well as it did is a great achievement. Stage fright and gusty conditions make demonstrations  like this difficult and nerve wracking for the pilot. Build a beautiful scale model and fly it in a scale-like manner, put a video on You Tube that is enjoyable to watch and read comments.

  9. First time for me I watch a lot of RC air shows and RC airplanes they even have a j-3 cub with big old tires on it and reminds me of the Flying Cowboys yeah they have RC cub out there
