Wenn man sich überlegt, dass die den in den 50er oder 60er Jahre entwickelt haben, und das, für Damalige Verhältnisse schwere Flugzeug, trotzdem mit so kleinen Tragflächen zum fliegen gebracht haben, war das schon eine Meisterleistung der Konstrukteure. Aber auch dementsprechend ist er geflogen. Es gab sehr viele Unfälle. Und viele Veteranen wo dieses Flugzeug geflogen sind, sprachen oft später davon, dass es wie der Ritt auf der Kanonenkugel war, dieses Ding zu fliegen. Und trotz allem ist es aus der Fliegerei Geschichte nicht wegzudenken. Vor allem auch wegen den schlechten Flugeigenschaften, hat es einen enormen Beitrag geleistet, dass die heutigen Flugzeuge so sind wie sie sind.

12. You can tell a lot about a pilot and his level of expertise when he greases one in as well as this one.

13. Fantastic plane. When I was watching this video, I was wondering how he was going to land this half rocket plane without ripping the gear off. Then he makes this incredible landing. This is a top notch plane and a remarkable pilot.

    "controller", because "pilot" really rides, (actually flies), in the plane, (inside)
    the cockpit.!!

27. the f104 starfighter was purely an intercepter. get up shoot people down land…. they called it the "manned missile"
    since it had so little wing its landing speed was close to 200 mph. yeah.. it glided like a flat slab of cardboard with 5" holes punched in it.

30. Beautiful aircraft. But I could never see the appeal of a $20K RC Jet and just fly around in circles mostly. 40% 3D Gasser. Now that's fun flyin. But I understand different strokes for different folk. Nice landing by the way.

33. You could probably buy a real f104 and equip it with servos for about the same cost as this model. Opex would be higher though.
