What a great Wildcat Flight, great video. Jeff in LA USA
WOW ! Congratulations ! Very well done ! Thanks for sharing !
An absolutely stunning model! I love it! I want it to last for years and some people may take offense but here goes.
I've been an RC flier since 1971, a designated instructor and test pilot for 30 years, and have flown scores of warbirds including 37 of my own. I want to give you some friendly advice that applies to anyone wanting a warbird because, you see, your rudder and throttle techniques are not the best.
What i teach all my prospective warbird students is get a low-wing sport/aerobatics plane and fly it till you can land it, softly, at your feet by balanced use of rudder and throttle. Then? Add balast until it will barely get airborne and fly it until you can land, softly, at your feet with balanced use of rudder and throttle. Then go back to the warbirds and they will last longer!
I sincerely want to help anyone reading this and mean no offense to anyone.. It took me many heartbreaking crashes and one really good mentor to show me the way. The Wildcat, I've had two, is a splendid airplane but you need to use the rudder and throttle properly like any scale model, or it will bite you.
Cheers!
One other tip for all RC pilots. If your plane veers to the side when you go to take off? Chop the throttle and start again. If it does it again? Take it back to the pits and correct the problem.
Cheers again!
Nice atlantic paint sheme as was used on the F4Fs that protected the covoys from small escort carriers. But damn that landing hurt 😀 Flare my friend 😉 Sry idk anything about RC planes, I just fly real planes (B737/A320) 🙂 Grüße
