  1. This is what RC is all about. The risk of destruction is a very important ingredient of the thrill and excitement, and we have all been there. I bet these guys already are far into building an even better and more beautiful plane. And money – well, depending of craftsman skills this is more a question of time spent for building. This is a pretty affordable hobby.

  2. 2017 Weston Park Air Show midair collision

Planes 1&2: unidentifiable Austrian ww2 fighters

    Time stamp: 0:13

The planes were doing a low pass for an air show, when they were separated by about 5 feet. The pilot on the bottom, Franz Frankenhiemer, had expected the pilot above him, Stefan Wurst, to pull up. Frankenheimer pulled up too early, causing his plane to slam into Wurst’s. Both Frankenheimer and Wurst died on impact. BAV investigation discovered that the probable cause was:

“The pilot on the bottom’s misinterpretation of the pilot above already pulling up, so he pulled up. Unbeknownst to him, the pilot above hadn’t pulled up, causing a fatal midair collision.”

In an interview 2 days later, the pilot who pulled up and away, Benedikt Lamarr, said that “Franz either hated him secretly, or he didn’t know Stefan was there. I highly doubt that the first was the right answer. He most likely didn’t know he was there.”

  3. A lot of Reckless flying and a lot of red flags with this scenario that would not have been allowed at most of the clubs Ive ever been a member of. As many have stated yes these things happen but in this particular circumstance of that type of flying there should be a pilot and a spotter to maintain space and distance which the Fockewulf shouldnt have been that close to the corsair. Many who watch this only see the loss of the planes but the fact is this could have been much worse resulting in personal injury to other pilots or spectators especially giving the size and speed of the planes.
