Yes, hello and welcome to a new video from me. Today I have something really cool from Pocket Racers to show you. There’s another car, the small Skyline here in yellow, and also two new race tracks. First up, we have the Hockenheimring, and then we have the Airfield Restrack. I’ll show you all of that in more detail in this video, and who knows, maybe there’ll even be something to win at the end. It’s definitely worth sticking with it. I’d say we get started right away. Have fun. Here we have the new Pocket Racer Skyline. Those in the know will, of course, immediately see that it’s a replica of a Nissan GTR. Here in yellow and in 1:64 scale. Since Skyline isn’t officially available for purchase at the time of this video, I got a pre-production version here, which doesn’t include all the accessories you’ll get later . Mine only came with the remote control, which I ‘ll show you again shortly. That’s also new. Otherwise, there will be a few accessories later, and of course everything needed to drive it. I think it’s very similar to the Bullies. I’ve shown you those before. I’ll link the video up here. But let’s stick with the Skyline for now. As I said, this is a replica of the Nissan GTR R34. We’ve installed rear-wheel drive and an integrated battery that’s supposed to provide a running time of 80 minutes. And we even have a little suspension up front. Underneath the car, we have a USB socket for charging the battery, a power switch with an LED, and a leg button if you want to connect the racer to a different remote control . Of course, we also have plenty of lighting on board, which can then be controlled via the remote control. I’ll show you all of that in a moment when I show you the remote control and all its functions. The tires are made of rubber and therefore have enough grip to drive quickly around the track. We’ve added a sleek little black front spoiler at the front and a small rear spoiler at the back. There are also a few other fine details on the front, on the hood, and of course, on the rear of the Skyline. The mirrors are made of rubber, just like on the Bully. This means they won’t break if you roll over . And the windows, as you can see, are black, so you can’t see inside the body. The whole thing is made of plastic, making it relatively light. The speedster weighs just 34 g and measures 76 x 34 x 20 mm. I’d say that’s it for the new vehicle. Now let’s take a quick look at the Skyline’s new remote control and how it works. Yes, this time we’ve got a new 2.4 GHz remote control with the Skyline, the CT03. It’s made entirely of plastic, of course , and a bit smaller than the CT01 that came with the Bullies. What’s also different here is that the steering wheel has been slightly offset on the right side, so that you can assume a more ergonomic steering position when driving. Here below, we also have the throttle, which you pull to move forward and press to reverse or brake. This time, we have a built-in battery, which we can charge via the USB cable at the back. Under the USB cable, there’s a status LED, the color of which can also be customized in the menu. Then, on the left side, we have an off button this time, rather than a slider, as was the case with the CT01. If we press and hold it , the remote control turns on. Centrally located on the top of the remote control , we have a small display on which we can see some data, such as the servo deflections for throttle and steering, and a few other parameters, which I’ll come to in a moment. Above the display, we have a rotating push button. Here, we can first switch between the overview and a servo monitor switch back and forth. And if we press the button briefly , we get to the settings menu, where we can set the language, change the model and make other settings. Also, for example, the color of the status LED. If you press the button for a longer time, the display is locked and to lock it we have to press the button for a longer time. Next, below the display on the left, we have the button for the three speed levels, namely the THT button. Here the car drives at the slowest speed in the first level, a little faster in the second level and really fast in the third level – and by that I mean really fast, as you can see here. The different settings can also be seen here in the progress of the balcony shown in the display. We have the same thing for the ST switch, which is responsible for the steering deflections. Here we have a slight deflection in the first level, a medium deflection in the second level and the highest steering deflection in the third level. Then we have the A button down here on the bottom left. This turns the headlights and taillights on and off. As far as I can tell, the F switch next to it has no function at the moment. Then on the right we have an E button. This flashes the headlights. Next to it we have the D button. This is where we can turn on the flashing function. This means that when we steer, the front and rear indicators come on. If we press the button again, we can instantly turn the front and rear indicators on. If we press the button again, the front indicators will light up continuously, and if we press it again, we turn the entire function off completely. On the left side we have buttons D1 and D2. I have to say, though, I haven’t been able to determine any function for them. As you can see, all the buttons on the remote control are more or less illuminated. Then we have a few additional lighting functions on the vehicle itself: when we brake, we have a brake light, and when we reverse, we even have the white reversing light. A really cool lighting function, I think. Whether you need it or not is debatable. If the car doesn’t exit straight, you can of course adjust or fine-tune the straight exit using the settings in the transmitter menu. Here we have the Pocket Racer Hockenheimring rolled out in front of us. The mat is again made of a special rubber compound. There’s also a thin layer of fabric on top, and we have a size of 1.15 x 3 m. A really cute little track, which was, of course, only modeled as closely as possible on the Hockenheimring, since it’s difficult to maintain exact proportions at this scale. But nevertheless, the track layout is really well done, and all of the track’s important and distinctive points have been implemented. Starting, of course, with the start and finish. We have six starting positions here. I think that’s sufficient for this track. Then , after the start and finish line, we come to the first right-hand bend, the Ranne Wohlkurve. The next straight leads to the Bernie Eckestor Kurve, which, even on a smaller scale, is a right-hand bend, or rather a right-left combination. Then it continues through the Hockenheimring’s typical long, parabolic linking curve to the Spitzkähre, which, of course, is also present here. Then it continues with another straight , which, after a right-hand bend, ends in a sharp left-right combination, before we reach the famous Hockenheimring Motodrom, which has also been beautifully recreated here on a smaller scale. From the Motodrom, you then head back to the start and finish via the south curve, or you can drive into the pit lane, which, of course, is also present here . As you already know from the first Pocket Racer track, the track is itself is now kept rather plain in a simple grey with white boundary lines, but there are also some chic blue and white CBS all over the corners and here in front of the Motodrom there is a large Hockenheimring Germany lettering. We also have a path here in the infield of the track that connects both directions and a suggested run-off area here in the Spitzkähre. Unlike the first track, this time at the Hockenheimring we have printed a realistic environment with trees and meadows, which works really well here since the Hockenheimring is actually located in the middle of the forest. Last but not least, we have also printed the Pocket Racer logo here in the centre of the track. If you want, you can of course also stick the included boundary boards around the track. These are of course made of foam with a slightly grooved rubber coating and are self-adhesive, so you can easily stick them on and off again. I’d say that’s enough about the Hockenheimring. I’m now going to try to do a few fast and error-free laps with the new Skyline. Have fun. Ah. [Music] เฮ [Music] Then, as I said, I have a second track for you, the Airfield Racetrack, also from Pocket Racers, of course. Here, too, we have the self-adhesive foam boards, which you can stick onto the track as you wish. The airfield measures 1.60 x 90 cm and is, of course, also made of a special rubber compound with a layer of fabric on top. Unlike the Hockenheimring, however, the entire track here is represented very realistically. First, we have the runway, where we’ve also printed four pit stops and a start-finish line. As you can clearly see, the entire asphalt is covered with tire marks from the planes taking off and landing . It looks very realistic. The airport forecourt here next to the runway also has a very nice, realistic asphalt surface. We’ve printed the orientation lines for the aircraft here, which we can then use as a track template for laying out the barriers later. We also have three greenfields on the landing field: the two large ones on the outside and a small greenfield in the middle. All three are really beautifully realistic, with grass, dirt, and many other lovely details. And here on the left greenfield, we’ve of course also printed the large Pocket Racers logo. Since we haven’t printed a specific track on the airfield here, there are certainly a variety of ways to set the course. For example, you could drive a figure 8 here, and you could theoretically buy a second airfield and then place it at the back, rotated 180°, or even place it to the side and extend the field even further. Then you have a longer track available and even more options. I’m going to set up the course the way Pocket Racers shows it on their homepage, and then I’ll try to do a few fast laps here as well. [Music] [Music] [ Music] Finally, a brief conclusion. Let’s first talk about the new Skyline. I think it’s a really cool little speedster, especially with so many lighting functions. I think the brake light and the reversing light, for example, are really cool, but as I just said, while they’re really cool features, they’re not really important when you’re racing, of course. As we all know, having more is better than needing. In terms of detail, it’s always possible to have more, but it’s more of a fun racer for fast racing than a scale model for display. And you can really go fast with the Pocket Racers, as you saw in the video, so nothing can break or break even if you roll over. go and for what it is, I think it is already done with quite a lot of detail. I didn’t see the stated 80 minutes of battery life, though. I didn’t observe or measure it closely, but it was considerably less. I’m assuming that’s more of a typo on the website. I couldn’t really find the stated underbody lighting here either. There are two light openings down here that could indicate this, but they also light up when the indicators are flashing, for example, and I haven’t been able to change the color. So I don’t know if that’s coming or if the Skyline simply doesn’t have underbody lighting. The Bulli, for example, did have underbody lighting. So let’s get to the tracks. They are both really cool tracks, although the Airfield is now more realistic in its design thanks to all the details, even on the track itself. The Hockenheimring is much simpler, but the Hockenheimring is still very cool, with its track layout linked to the original . But it’s also a lot more challenging to drive, in my opinion. At the Airfield you basically have every opportunity to design your own track, since there isn’t really a set route. At the Hockenheimring I personally found that you definitely have to drive at speed level 3. Otherwise you’ll have problems getting around the hairpin, for example. That’s why the whole driving at the Hockenheimring is so challenging. At least that’s how it was for me, because you have to steer very sensitively, especially in the corners, which aren’t that steep, but with a bit of practice it’s definitely fun and you really notice your steps. I think that’s the whole idea behind pocket racing, that you don’t drive realistically, but rather get around the track as quickly and error-free as possible. I should also say that I only drove at speed level 1 in the video, and that’s already pretty fast for me. Um, if you drive at speed level 2 or 3, it’s pretty damn fast even for these narrow tracks . As I mentioned at the beginning, there’s also something to win. I’m giving away a Pocket Tracer Bully for one of you. Here’s an RTF version. Also a really cool thing. I’ve already made a video about it, and I linked it to you at the beginning. What you have to do is, of course, in the video description below. Then I’d say that’s it for the video. All the links are, of course, in the video description below. Please give me a like if you liked the video. Don’t forget to subscribe and ring the bell. Feel free to write me your opinion about the Pocket Racer in the comments below. Then thanks for watching and hope to see you in the next video. See you then, Chrissi. Co?
