My dad belped build hundreds of L-1049A, B, C, E, F and G in Burbank in the early fifties. So happy people are keeping the memory of those great planes alive.
Outstanding build and flight but a hairy landing.
Short runway and the terrain make it difficult for a long stable approach.

The "Connie" is as much modern art as technology, something like a Calder mobile you can fly to Paris. Did this come with a tiny Frank Sinatra, or Lucy and Ricky? Excellent!

The connie to me is a sexy plane , i,m not much of a fan of air liners but the connie is differant beutifule model .
As the joke goes.. the FAA won't let any pilot over 50 fly as Pilot in Command on a Connie … they figure that anyone that old can't handle three pieces of tail at once!
In my not so humble opinion, The Connie was the most beautiful airliner ever built. TWA was a grand livery as well. Fantastic model and flight!
