  1. This happened to me too with a big Stampe biplane. The lesson is to always have big high rates available, more than you think you could possibly need. Many times you wind up trimming the nose down for powered flight and then the glide dives beyond pitch control. You can lift the nose up with power but at some point you have to land. If you have time you can move the trim to full up elevator to help with the landing.

  2. — Uff, that was terrifying, thanks God – pilot survived! Why don't to give your elevator more deflection? Or blip throttle just like in "Good Old Days" of Aviation?

  3. An absolutely STUNNING model. And that scale rudder has it's work cut out for it with all that torque with a rotary engine, and a BIG prop. I'm glad the damage was minimal. Excellent build…wow.

  4. Even though the model looked tail heavy was not expecting the ending. I guess it must be flown within a very narrow flight envelope at all times. No partial hammerheads or idle power flying!

  6. you have to do a video just on the motor. Who can build a radial engine like that? This is really a well done and equipped plane. Sorry about the mishap but it will fly again.

  7. KRÁSA STARÝCH STROJŮ NEMÁ KONKURENCI. A TI ODVÁŽLIVCI CO S NIMI LÉTÁJÍ, NEMAJÍ TAKY KONKURENCI. Děkuji za zážitek.
THE BEAUTY OF OLD MACHINES HAS NO COMPETITION. AND THE DAREHOUSES THAT FLY WITH THEM DO NOT HAVE COMPETITION. Thank you for the experience.

  8. Would be an interesting build if in kit format*….. Some times such hand crafted rc plane's exhibit more traits of a real full size period aircraft than even a full scale rc plane. This plane in flight and the wonderful engine noise so very… Realistic *

  9. Amazing scratch built plane. What a pleasure to watch from start-up to flight. Though, like most, I cringed at the end. Testimony to the building and piloting skills of how well it survived the crash. Thank you for posting this great video. BTW, who makes that radial engine? Plane and engine are true works of art.

  10. What a nice job on the build. Really sorry about the damage but glad it was minimal. I have a much smaller (40 size) Morane Saulnier that is quite similar to your plane. It needs a lot of control surface authority as well. And yes, it has had similar landings but, is still flying and looks great! Again, great job on the build and thank you for the video!

  12. Very cool. Really like the way the rotary engine sounds. Unlike most of the radial engines it actually sounds proper. Most of the RC radials don't have the lumbering along sound.. they sound to to smooth.

  13. you can’t just go to idle on a 50 pound plane. the plane was very close to stall several times during the flight. on the final left bank it just did not have enough air speed eben before the pilot went to idle. anyway i’m glad the damage was minimal

  14. Hi,
after a long time waiting for different reasons we had perfect conditions for the re-maiden last weekend. I am happy to tell you that I had two perfect flights with perfect landings. 600 g lead in the tail and more elevator solved the problem. Next time I will find somebody to make a short video to let you participate.
    Regards Gerhard
