The Queen of the skies. A Connie was the 1st class way to travel back in the day.
The Connie is my favorite aircraft of all time. I want one so much but at this late stage of my life I'll never be able to afford one. I'll always have my dreams.

finally found an rc model that's electric will start build when all parts have arrived. I like the connie she was a cool plane.
Land sakes these models are amazingly well crafted and flown.
There is a " Connie" at my local airport, sits derelict on the ramp. It was a radome equipment type early warning ship for the Air Force during the Vietnam era.
Howard Hughes and Trans World Air Airlines employed the Lockheed Constellation. A very visually striking craft she came at a time when jet speeds were the coming thing. The Boeing 707 was very stiff competition for her to deal with. Radials as cool and neat as they are and sound are pretty maintainece
Involved. Just can't fly as fast. 300 mph as opposed to 500 mph. Most air lines today are jet equipped.
