Cool Man, Cool….😎
That is impressive
8.8 lbs is way too light for a 1/4 scale Corsair. The real Corsair has a minimum operational weight of around 8,000 lbs. When you scale down an object, its weight should decrease by a factor of cube. So, 1/4 x 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/64. So, 8,000 lbs x 1/64 = 125 lbs.
Now, in order to obtain scale flying speed, what should its weight be? Well, with 1/4 linear scale, the wing surface area is decreased to 1/16, and when we decrease the airspeed to 1/4, we will be getting only 1/16 of the lift generational potential. So, when we have 1/16 of the wing surface area and 1/16 of the lift-generational potential, we can support only 1/16 x 1/16 = 1/256 of the original weight of 8,000 lbs. So, dividing 8,000 lbs by 256 = 31.25 lbs. So, the formula for the proper weight to obtain scale flying speed would be the real aircraft weight divided by the scale factor to the 4th power.
So, in order to have scale flying speed, we should be aiming for a flying weight of around 32 lbs. The 8.8 lbs is WAY TOO LIGHT to achieve credible scale flying speed.
Also, I'b be using a Moki 150 cc 5-cylinder radial engine rated at 8.5 hp in order to achieve scale engine sound. Scale horsepower would be 1/4 of the 32 lb-gross weight = 8 hp. Though, for more oomph and climbing power, a Moki 250 cc would be even better, though may be a bit nose heavy. A Moki 180 cc would be ideal if there is a "need for speed."
Though, we would need a 7 cylinder radial engine turning at 6,000 rpm in order to have the proper scale sound to match the sound of the 18-cylinder PW-2,800 engine turning 2,600 rpm. The 5-cylinder Moki at 6,000 rpm would be close but not quite matching the higher-pitch growl of the 18-cylinder PW-2,800 at 2,600 rpm.
Die Bezeichnung "PARK"-Flyer bekommt hier eine ganz neue Bedeutung…. 😊👍🏻😊👍🏻😊👍🏻
Great model! Thanks for posting.
Na ja, wenn man's mag.
I WANT (to build) ONE! Nice and slow. A true joy to watch.
Looks like it’s gonna stall all the time. Feel like it needs more power.
Greatest slowflier EVER!!!
Awesome. Needs playing cards on the prop to make more noise.
Except for the sound (none) it actually flies more realistically than the grossly overpowered (for weight) models using gasoline engines.
I got to touch, caress, fondle, a real corsair! It was an erotic experience for me. Those sexy lines, the smooth surface, the enormous engine put me in an emotional state that made me feel guilty after I walked away from the beauty. I have never seen anything so beautiful and sexy! Thd P51 Mustang may have been the superior plane, but the sexiest and most beautiful fighter ever made has to be the Corsair. I can enjoy the beauty of various models of cars, aeroplanes, ships, animals, and women. (I am a heterosexual male) But nothing has ever been so inspiring and erotic as being in contact with a Corsair. If I could have sat in the cockpit, I wonder what would have happened to me. I seriously walked out with an embarrassing limp because I was trying to hide a delicate, "male condition." No machine had ever done that to me. I did not think it possible to be aroused by a machine. I can admit what happened to me here, because nobody knows me except for my name. I would never admit how a Corsair stimulated me to an erotic point to anybody in reality, especially a psychiatrist. Even the model in the video seems slightly pornographic to me. What is wrong with me?
Very nice. At this weight the flight characteristics are very realistic.
I love it 👍🏼
In a stiff wind it might fly backwards or even VTOL!
Wish I could like these electric planes. Warbirds should have a 4 stroke imo
Tjakepzzz 👌👍 Sangatzzz
Very 👌👍 Nice
Just Awesome 👌👍👏👏👏
Truly Beautiful!! Great job!!
48 Thumbs down! Are they crazy?
I would love to fly it! Or just buy it!
….WOW!!!!!!! IT FLIES SO BEAUTIFULLY!!!!! AWESOME!!!!! THANKS, FOR SHARING!!!!
Mega cooles Teil😳V
Sowas hätte ich auch gerne, tolle Idee mot dem leichtbau!
I have the same plane at the same scale, just without any motor. What motor did you use in yours? Great vid.
Very RC plane, like and subbed, wish you could see some of my vids and do same
Do you have any footage of high speed passes. Nice plane love the F4U
Absolutely Majestic , Well done.
It would make a great carrier lander, as it's original design is meant to be,so your model is a perfect copy.
Beautiful model and and quite unique achievement .
It flies at a more realistic airspeed than the usual scale r/c airplane. Wonderful project – sophisticated build!
Fantastic!
what is the build technique for such light weight?
Azertyu
Where can i purchase this plane!!!!??
i'm wondering the area loading too look for for such a speed.
Jurgen, you are a Master Builder. What a great model to build too. The Corsair is my favorite warbird of all time. Can your model to rolls or loops? Or would the stress cause cracks in the structure?
The build video is just as amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aV9vEL-Fug
You don't often see an RC plane flying less than scale speed, which is an achievement in itself.
your team work is very nice
The Corsair is one of the most beautiful airplanes ever designed. The large prop is part of what make Corsairs look unique, and this fantastic model doesn't compromise on the big propeller, or the retractable gear. It is an absolute pleasure and joy to watch this Corsair fly! Are aerobatics impossible with this particular model?
The scale and speed of these lokks like its an rc simulator. Crazy.
Hallo,einfach klasse Modell .
NIIIICE!!! 👍
The only way I could fly a RC plane is slow like that…
