The F4U incorporated the largest engine available at the time, the 2,000 hp (1,500 kW) 18-cylinder Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial. To extract as much power as possible, a relatively large Hamilton Standard Hydromatic three-blade propeller of 13 feet 4 inches (4.06 m) was used.

  2. Imagine the sound of 9 of these split into 3 groups diving down for high speed passes. The only thing missing to really pep up the display is the sound of machine gun fire as they are coming in right at you. Very nice.

  15. Looks beautiful!! Sounds awesome!!! But…. One thing is missing. The BBRRRRRTTTTT sound of a bunch of 50 cal machine guns blasting away.
