This is the brand new Pilot RC SU30. 2 m 80 in length, fully 3D, and with twin vector thrust at the back. That means you can even control torque in the hover. But what makes this plane really stand out for Pilot RC is that it’s a true evolution on their construction style. It’s the first plane that they’ve painted in the mold. So, we’ve got no extra layers of paint, no clear coat on top, which all makes it an even lighter airframe than the ones that they’ve been doing up to now, such as the Matrix. To make it even lighter though, they’ve also made the entire plane out of honeycomb as opposed to composite. Now, this plane is in collaboration with Ralph and Enrio from the Ster team, and this is a system that they’ve been using in their large Sukoys for quite a while now simply because it’s lighter. It is also harder to work, but the result speaks for itself now, thanks to that dual vector thrust at the back. So, we’ve got two turbines. This one is flying on two jet cap P130s. Now, if you buy those nowadays, they’re now the P150s, which have replaced them. So, you’d have even more power than the guys do here. Not that it’s any degree of short on power. But the fact that you have twin vector thrust nozzles means that not only can you do all the traditional vector thrust maneuvers, you can also do things like control the torque in the torque roll or hover. So you can actually have it in a hover, roll it one way and then roll it back again which looks very unique and we’re not used to seeing that in any kind of vector jet. We also have this massive air bra which helps slow it down even in a vertical dive which Ralph showed off earlier brilliantly. They’ve also continued the quick release systems even for the wing tips, so things are easy to build and assemble at the flying field to get you in the air in no time. They go [Applause] anywhere.
